Most of the electricity distribution sector in Lithuania is built before 40 or 50 years, so there are many obsolete and unsafe devices, which must be changed in order to ensure a reliable and quality electric power supply to consumers. This requires large investments in the electric power distribution network, which can improve reliability indicators, ensure that the network would be safe, reliable and resistant to force majeure. In this research work review development aims and tasks of electric power distribution network, investments programs, interruptions causes of electric power supply. Analyzing allocation of investments in Kaunas region. Graphically analyzing and comparing the period of 2014-2015 unplanned breakdowns and the main electricity distribution network reliability indicators SAIFI and SAIDI.
