Abstract [eng] |
This thesis reviews the types of vehicle body, its main elements, materials used in it, and joining techniques. This paper analyzes B – pillar constructions, its main elements and restoration methods. Experimental tests have been conducted, to determine mechanical properties of different materials used in B – pillar. Three different B – pillars are prepared for an experiments, one construction left factory, and other two constructions have been renewed, according to methodology of vehicle body repair. Strength of a different B – pillars have been determined by experimental bending tests. Three different computational models of a B – pillar structure developed in ANSYS Workbench are presented, with the imitation of weld joints that match the mechanical characteristics of a weld seam. Results obtained from three different computational models are analyzed and compared. The results from experimental tests are compared with results, form a computational models and conclusions are made. |
