The main objective of this thesis is to analyse the manoeuvring time on industrials tracks at Palemonas station railway yard and the factors influencing it.Normative manoeuvring times were established by manoeuvring in various modes. They were then compared to actual recorded manoeuvring times. In order to modernise the current manoeuvring situation at Palemonas station railway yard an installation of a centralised traffic control is planned. It would not only reduce normative manoeuvring times but also reduce the required human involvement. |
