Abstract [eng] |
The main aim of this master thesis is to investigate stress and strain in artificial soils using triaxial compression apparatus. The object of this master’s thesis - seven different soil compositions, which consists of 0/4 fraction sand soil mixed with 0 to 30% of pure clay. The paper describes theoretical material about soil classification and description. Then it analysis unrestrained soil compression test. Literature analysis about triaxial compression was also made. Last part of theoretical part is introduction of structure, operation and application process of triaxial compression apparatus Digital Tritest 50, made by ELE. The most important part is a practical one, where laboratory work is made investigating mentioned work object- different compositions of soils. Soil texture analysis was made firstly. Then Proctor test is made and optimal soil moisture is determined for deciding about optimal density for each composition. The triaxial stress/strain analysis is then made, where mechanical properties of strength and deformation are investigated, searching for interactions relations between them. In the end of this master’s work theoretical and practical conclusions are made based on analysed results. |
