According to different studies, it is known that social worker’s successful work results and quality from working with social risk families mostly relies on social worker’s competence, preparation for this kind of work, motivation to learn, improve and raise their qualification, as well as from every worker’s personal qualities and value regulations. As the world advances and the importance of technology increases in all activities, child care center’s staff must adjust and improve the competence requirements that are being raised to them. ICT competence must be improved constantly because ICT are being used in casual activities in child care centers every day. ICT competence is already being used to accomplish educational, social and psychological tasks of every child care center. Constantly improving knowledge and abilities about ICT, will not only supplement and improve the quality of executable activities but it will easen all the work in general. In this context we can put forward these problematical questions: Which child care center’s employee’s ICT competences are the most important? What are the opportunities to improve child care center’s staff’s competence in ICT? Research results show that child care center’s employees are constantly improving their competences. Although ICT competence in inseparable from every day’s activities, there is a lack of opportunities to improve this competence and an absence of possibility to consult with specialists when there are any questions about it. The study revealed two problems, which are the lack of ICT competence for staff and ICT equipment shortage in child care centers. Employees cannot perform their desired activities because they do not have necessary equipment or their competence is not high enough to maximize the use of available technologies. Since employee’s motivation to improve their competence is quite high, all this leads to a job well done and personal improvement. Lack of motivation can be felt from external sources. Child care center’s staff would willingly improve their ICT competence, which would bring them knowledge that would facilitate and supplement their everyday’s work. There is a lack of training courses involving ICT that could be implemented practically in this specific specialization. |
