Abstract [eng] |
This thesis outlines our research study aimed to investigate the main hurdles and solutions to overcome them for successful implementation of educational innovation of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. Based on the most recent scientific literature, this work describes features of autistic disorders, strategies for integration of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and reveals basis of ABA therapy and the main factors determining implementation of educational innovation process. The empirical study, applying semi-structured interviews, was conducted with three groups including experts, educators and users, who are using ABA as intervention method for children with ASD. We have analyzed and summarized answers of the participants, identified the most common categories of answers and created a model, which helps to overcome hurdles of ABA implementation. These are the main external hurdles: stigmatized attitude of the public, current legislative framework. The main internal hurdles: lack of educators’ professionalism and experience, inability to communicate and co-operate, lack of patience and flexibility, parents’ uninvolvement to training; the main barrier for the parents is a lack of finance; meanwhile organizations experience the barriers of communication and co-operation, as well as development of methodical tools and linguistic barriers. |
