Translation of Title Competitiveness of the wood processing industry in foreign markets.

Abstract [eng] Globalization affects all industries, including wood processing sector. Development of new product mixes and technological development as well as declining commodity prices, companies must develop new strategies, and to discover their strengths in the face of foreign competitors. Competitiveness is a key aspect of the international markets, since it is considered a major source of export development. Main results of the paper is investigate the wood processing industry, and look for competitiveness increasing and reducing factors. The statistical analysis of the survey showed that: wood processing enterprises competitiveness of reducing factors is: wood scarcity, financial resources shortage, technical equipment acquisition, production is not efficient, no foreign investments. Factor which increase competitiveness have been identified, such as: product innovation, successful strategic planning of investments, actively searching for new customers in foreign markets, investment in staff training. The survey results can be used in wood processing companies to improve their competitive advantage in foreign markets.
