Current economic situation in the world is tense: production levels in China are slowing and because of that raw material market prices are diminishing. Developing countries that rely on income, generated from exports of the materials, are running into budget deficits, while Japan’s economy is in a stagnation for a second decade. Growth of European economies has not rebounded to the pre-crisis level because of the bad loan situation, which has spread throughout financial markets. All of that affect Lithuanian economy and companies in dairy industry strongly felt the impact. Because of that it is essential to improve competitive situation of the companies in the industry in order to sustain the development. The goal of this research is to identify the methods for assessment of competitiveness, evaluate the competitive situation of companies in Lithuanian dairy industry and compare the results with those of companies in other largest Lithuanian manufacturing sectors. |
