Logistics and transport sector plays a very important role in the economy as a whole. The main function of logistics and transport companies is to connect other sectors of the economy and ensure a smooth and timely movement of goods and services, so without a well-developed and efficient logistics and transport sector efficiency and success in other sectors is inconceivable. The logistics and transport sector includes road, rail, water transport services companies, storage, transshipment and transport services related companies and companies that provide transport forwarding, freight forwarding and other intermediary services. In order that the goods pass through the territory of Lithuania, and the logistics and transport sector would have work, it is needed that the whole industry is competitive. The more competitive and more developed this sector is, the more customers prefer to use the services of companies in the country, so it is necessary to make evaluation of Lithuanian logistics and transport sector competitiveness. |
