Master's graduate project analyses implementation of social housing policy in Lithuania: a case of Kaunas city. The analysis of the situation has shown that the accessibility of social housing is especially limited when compared to the demand of social housing. Theoretical part of the project presents an analysis of implementation and regulation of social housing policy in Lithuania. In the research part, the implementation of social housing policy is examined from the perspective of social housing inhabitants and specialists working in the field. The problem of the research - does the implementation of social housing policy in Kaunas guarantee appropriate accessibility of social housing? Research subject - experiences of social housing inhabitants and specialists working with inhabitants of social housing as well as people who want to get social housing in Kaunas. The aim of the research – to evaluate an implementation of social housing policy in Kaunas city. Objectives of the research - to discuss the welfare of housing policy in the context of welfare state models; to analyse the legal reglamentation of social housing policy in Lithuania; to prepare a social housing evaluation research methodology and carry out an empirical research; to prepare conclusions and recommendations for improving social policy improvement. Research methods - qualitative research, by using semi-structured interviews. Qualitative content analysis was applied for an analysis of the interviews. |
