Abstract [eng] |
. During the recent years, policy for social integration of disabled persons has purposefully shifted from relief and support, as an only measure, to encouragement of capabilities and development of independence among disabled people, as well as their integration to local communities and social life in general. It has been determined following the review of the data provided by the labour exchange and assessment of the study results, that there is low level of employment among disabled persons in Kretinga City. Internal (lack of self-esteem) and external (attitude of society and employers, failure to adapt infrastructure and communication) barriers have been determined in respect of disabled persons. Similar groups of problems have been also specified by employers,- barriers directly related to disabled persons (morbidity, lack of mobility and lower quality of work) as well as failure to adapt to working environment resulting to addition cost for an employer. |
