The family business as a phenomenon has been around for several centuries now. In countries such as South Korea, Japan, the United States, some Western European countries particularly cherished old family business traditions. In Europe family businesses account for 70-80 per cent of all businesses and employ about 50 percent of all employees. Family businesses are extremely important for Europe because of their contribution the regional GDP and the positive impact on employment. They are also innovative and have a long-term vision. In addition, these companies are firmly rooted into the region ant its culture, reflecting the European values that we all share. |
