Abstract [eng] Eccsentrically compressed cross-section of a built-up column is analysed in the final projectof the Master‘s degree. Critical power of compressing columns is defined using the finite element method (FEM). The project consists of four parts and conclusions. In the first part a general defnition of a cross-section built-up column is given and the survey of scientific research connected with this structure is presented. In the second part the influence of non-symetry of loading on the built-up columns is presented. Four types of nets choosing profiles, materials and loading are modelled. In the third and fourth parts the influence of geometric parameters on the resistance of compressing of built-up columns is given. The height and length of profiles are considered to be the main parameters of built-up columns.During the investigation it was found out that the critical power of all nets is getting less irrespectively of the direction of eccentricity of external loading. It was determined that the Z type built-up column is the most resistant. The net of this type had the biggest critical power despite the direction of changing the guantity of eccentricity. However the N type net is the least „sensitive“ considering the eccentricity of loading.
