Abstract [eng] This paper is concerned with the problems of employees’ participation in quality management system. There are many ways, means and methods how the employee is involved in quality management system. Therefore, in order to improve the quality management the company must identify and be interested in critical success factors that determine employees’ participation in quality management system. The studies regarding the pharmacy employees’ participation in quality management system estimating critical success factors have not been conducted in Lithuania. There is no list of critical factors which could be the guideline to the company’s managing pharmaceutical activities and wanting to ensure the participation of employees in quality management system. The problem of this Thesis is to reveal critical success factors affecting the pharmacy employees’ participation in quality management system. The object of Thesis is to discuss critical success factors that impact the participation of employees in quality management system. The aim of Thesis is to distinguish critical success factors that influence the participation of employees in quality management system. The goals of Thesis are the following: 1. To review the scientific and legal sources representing the participation of employees in quality management system. 2. To identify critical factors that affects the participation of employees in quality management system. 3. To provide with a summarized list of critical success factors that influences the participation of employees in quality management system. This Thesis consists of four chapters. The first chapter presents the regulatory approach of both the quality management system and the participation of employees in quality management system. The second chapter contains the interpretations of critical success factors in quality management system. In addition, it provides with an overview of the research that was conducted by both Lithuanian and foreign scientists who analyzed critical success factors affecting employees’ participation in quality management system. At the end of the second chapter there is a general list of factors of thirty seven workers who participated in quality management system. The third chapter describes a methodology of a pilot study, it also gives a survey instrumentation of employees' participation in quality management system and provides with the characteristics of both companies and respondents that have been surveyed. The reliability analysis of survey questionnaire has been conducted. The results of the research are presented in the fourth chapter. After the analysis of scientific opinions regarding the critical success factors it was estimated that it ensures the expected result which is the participation of employees in quality management system. In the process of setting critical success factors of employees' participation in quality management system the relevant information is employee's opinions and their approval of the applicable decisions. In order to conduct a pilot study a survey instrumentation of critical success factors of employees' participation in quality management system has been made. It consists of fifty nine instruments. Eighty three respondents who work in net pharmacies in the Southern part of Lithuania have been involved in the study. After the pilot study in the Southern part of Lithuania has been conducted the list of critical success factors of employees' participation in quality management system has been made from the employees of twenty eight pharmacies. Seven groups of critical success factors of pharmacy employees' participation in quality management system have been identified. The groups have been made according to employees' typology. The research instrumentation validity process has been carried out according to Cronbach's alpha and factor analysis methods. The analysis revealed that the questionnaire is relatively reliable. The questionnaire variables, sub-groups and groups correlate with each other and they are homogeneous. The instrumentation is acceptable for the determination of critical success factors and can be used not only in the pilot study. The factor analysis revealed that the questionnaire can be divided into three proposition groups that are why an improved survey questionnaire has been provided.
