The subject topicality. Technological modernization of farms is usually assessed retrospectively in the literature sources. Although a positive effect of the EU Structural Funds on the economic viability of the agriculture sector was revealed, there is a noticeable weakening of the competitiveness of small farms in regard of large farms and decrease in number of the employees of the agriculture sector. Due to insufficient entrepreneurship the solutions of a farm development are adopted without assessing its benefits and efficiency, and when preparing investment projects the solutions of the diversification of agricultural activities are based on the factors best perceptible to a farmer. Such solutions are not comprehensively strategically reasoned. Therefore the farmers' investments are not practicable all the time. It is suggested in the analysed literature sources to assess the agricultural investment projects in accordance with their innovativeness, costs, economic risk. A poor comparison of alternative investment is noted. Various methodologies of an investment assessment in accordance with life-cycle, a complex of assessment methods, a systematic assessment of activity effectiveness of investment with the EU financial support are also presented in the literature sources. An effect of the technological modernisation of agriculture sector on a crop farm after selection of different alternative investments is analysed in the thesis. A model for an assessment and inter-comparison of the planned investment and its most acceptable effect on a farm is created; a possibility of product diversification is analysed in more comprehensive way. The subject matter of the thesis. An effect of technological modernization on a crop farm. The objective: to assess an effect of technological modernization of agriculture sector on the development of the crop farm subject. In order to achieve the analysis objective the following tasks were raised: to analyse a conception of technological modernization and the results of an effect of technological modernization; to analyse the existing theories and methods related to assessment of crop farms activity and projects; to carry out a financial and competitive analysis of a farm activity; to assess a qualitative effect of technological modernization of a crop farm; to carry out an economic assessment of technological modernization of a crop farm; to create a model of an assessment of an effect of technological modernization on a farm and to compare an influence of the planned farm investment on development. The main results of the thesis. Favourable investment conditions, necessity of grants and subsidies for a farm and dependency have been revealed during the first two stages of the analysis. During the market analysis the most favourable dates for trade and the income alternation determining factors have been identified. They serve as a certain reference during performance of an assessment of investment projects. A priority of the determined selected primary investment in accordance with a possibility of differentiation and financial indicators. The second investment allows only specialisation in the ongoing activity. In comparison with the previously raised main factors influencing a farm activity the first investment due to its greater benefit on the regulation of the external and internal factors of competitiveness is selected. |
