Abstract [eng] |
With the rapid development of digital technologies and education, there is a growing need to use digital technologies in the educational process. New curricula, new methods are associated with digital technologies, and their effective use depends on the teachers’ competence in digital technologies. This work analyzes what kind of support would enable educators to more effectively improve the application of digital technologies in pedagogical activities, and discusses by what means educators could more easily find the necessary learning materials or other information. The aim of the work is to enable school teachers to apply digital technologies in their professional activities by using a Virtual Support System. In order to implement the aim of this work, the problems of application of digital competencies were analyzed, likewise, the need and possibilities of the teacher support system were investigated. Research has shown that there is a need for teachers to have a support system to be able to improve their digital competencies and performance of job functions. Based on the obtained research data, a model of a virtual teacher support system was developed and described in an article of the ALTA’2021 conference publication. After reviewing the functional and non-functional system possibilities of virtual learning environments, the Moodle virtual learning environment was selected to implement our system, which was supplemented by „Microsoft 365“ communication and collaboration tools. Other relevant information was posted in the institution’s website, developed with „Joomla“. The Virtual Teacher Support System was implemented by preparing textual and visual instructions / recommendations, providing links to digital tools and other useful information. When applied in school, The Virtual Support System enables(ed) educators to receive the necessary assistance and improve digital competencies that enable the application of digital technologies in their professional activities. |
