Topic relevance. Recently, more and more organizations are incorporating various technologies into their activities, so the use of technology is growing rapidly. For this reason, employee trust in technology is relevant as one of the elements of employee trust in the work environment. It is also relevant to research the influence of employee trust in technologies. Xu, Le, Deitermann and Montague (2014) research results show that a person's technology usage strategy depends on his or her trust in technology. Lack of trust in technology can lead to misuse or non-use of technology (Moe, Šmite, 2008). Over-trust in technology can become a source of employee job performance error (Laroche, Steyer, Theron, 2019). There is a wealth of research that analyzes employee trust in an organization, manager, or colleagues and how it affect employee performance, but there is a lack of theoretical and empirical research to analyze the impact of employee trust in technology on employee performance. The study of the impact of employee trust in technology on employee performance is also valuable in that employee performance influences the performance of the entire organization. Research object – influence of employee trust in technologies on employee performance. Research goal – to analyze the influence of employee trust in technologies on employee performance. Research objectives: 1. to define the importance and issues of influence of employee trust in technologies on employee performance; 2. to create a theoretical model of the influence of employee trust in technologies on employee performance; 3. to develop a methodology for empirical research on the influence of employee trust in technologies on employee performance and test it empirically; 4. To revise the theoretical model of the influence of employee trust in technologies on employee performance, and to prepare recommendations for its application and further research. The main results of the research. In order to analyze the impact of employee trust in technology on employee performance, a quantitative study was conducted. Regression analysis results show that employee trust has an impact on employee performance. Perceived technical competence and employees’ faith in technology affect employees’ task performance. Perceived understandability and employees’ faith in technology influences employee’s adaptive performance. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that employee’s trust that technology makes good use of the information they provide has a positive impact on the employee's task performance. Based on the results of the regression analysis, it was found that employees' faith that technology will work well in the future has a negative impact on employees' task performance and adaptability to environmental change. The ability of employees to predict the future behavior of technology has a positive effect on the ability of employees to adapt to change. |
