Research on leadership competencies is a relevant research topic. In the twentieth century, organizations faced the challenges of globalization, technology, social responsibility issues and competition, what increased customer expectations. This is a complex problem faced by leaders and executives at the time. Organizations that have gained successful leadership experience, achieved more efficient performance. Meanwhile, organizations that didn’t have good leadership practices have not achieved such high performance. Research on women's leadership competencies expression in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic can help identify what set of competencies is most evident and can help in the activities of women managers in business enterprises. The object of the work is the expression of leadership competencies of women leaders. The aim of the work is to identify the expression of women managerial leadership competences during the COVID-19 pandemic. Objectives: to conceptually analyze the leadership competencies of women leaders, to perform a theoretical analysis of the expression of women leadership competencies in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, to perform empirical study and present the leadership competencies of women leaders in the context of COVID-19 pandemic, to develop the expression model of women leadership competencies in the business sector in Panevėžys in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Work methods: analysis of scientific literature, semi-structured interviews, data summarization. Data analysis method: qualitative content analysis. An analysis of the scientific literature has revealed that the problem arise at the conceptual level because there is no common definition of the concept of leadership in the scientific literature analyzed at the organizational level. This creates the preconditions for defining managerial leadership claiming that leadership is an ongoing process in a relationship with people where the leader, using his power and personal qualities to influence and mobilize followers, changes in the organization. The analysis shows that the expression of women leadership competencies in a pandemic over time, not only face with new challenges but new opportunities arise demonstrating that their set of leadership competencies is effective in acting exceptionally under the conditions and alongside the traditional leadership competencies. The results of the study showed that women executives in the business sector in Panevėžys during the COVID-19 pandemic not only express traditional leadership competencies but also e-leadership qualities and abilities to emerge the qualities and skills that have helped women leaders to achieve management goals of the organization, to support employees and not to lose optimism for themselves. The analysis revealed hat the leadership competencies of women leaders as a whole are important in crisis management, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic time. |
