Abstract [eng] |
The main objectives of Lean are to increase productivity, reduce production time, reduce wastage of materials, time, and volume of waste, eliminate low-value activities, and ensure safer working environment. It was determined that the main problem for the company is increasing order volumes and insufficient production efficiency. The main objective of the work is to investigate the impact of the application of Lean methods on the productivity of the assembly line. To achieve this objective, the heater assembly line was modernized and Lean methods such as Kaizen, 5s, 6 sigma, line balancing and standardization of work were implemented. During the study the time of each assembly operation was measured, and the production efficiency and the line balance rate are calculated based on the data obtained. The study indicated that the modernization of the heater assembly line and the line balancing increased the production efficiency by as much as 50%. While at the beginning the productivity was 3.7 products/hour for “Neo NP08” heaters and 3.2 products/hour for “Neo NP20” heaters, after the introduction of Lean methods the productivity increased by 5.5 and 4.5 products/hour respectively. The study revealed that a reduction in wastage of production materials and time, an improvement in product quality and a reduction in the number of accidents. |
