Abstract [eng] In the final master's degree project a study of direct current corona discharge is performed. The analysis of the literature reviews corona discharge types, problems, methods of restriction and use in practice. Modeling methods and modeling programs are also reviewed in the literature analysis. Due to its popularity in practice the wire-to-plane electrode system is chosen for the study of direct current corona discharge. A mathematical model of direct current corona discharge is created with finite element modeling program. The voltage at which corona discharge occurs is determined. The dependence of the direct current corona discharge characteristics from conductor radius, heigh between electrodes and voltage are analyzed. The distribution of spatial charge density and potencial in space during corona discharge is investigated. An experimental direct current corona discharge study of the wire-to-plane electrode system is performed. The obtained results of the experimental research are compared with the results of developed mathematical model.
