Abstract [eng] |
Thyme (Thymus vulgaris L.) and hyssop (Hyssopus officinalis L.) are among the most important medicinal plant species, that are widely used in the food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries due to their strong antioxidant and antibacterial properties. According to other scientific studies, callus cultures of the studied plants accumulate a large amount of secondary metabolites. In order to optimize the sufficient synthesis of secondary metabolites of medicinal plants in callus cultures in vitro, it is necessary to determine the significant plant growth regulators and their concentration. Therefore, the main objective of this study was to identify the phytohormones of thyme and hyssop callus culture that would affect the antioxidant, antibacterial, and phytochemical plant activity in vitro. During the study, the effect of four culture media was evaluated for the synthesis of secondary metabolites in the callus cultures of thyme in vitro. Similarly, the two culture media were investigated for the synthesis of secondary metabolites in the callus cultures of hyssop in vitro. The results obtained were compared with those of thyme and hyssop in vivo. |
