Abstract [eng] |
Veterinary biocides are the type of antimicrobial products for disinfection of animal skin, livestock housing, drinking water, etc. In this research disinfecting dips for dairy cattle udder are examined. Dips form a protective film on the surface of the teat that prevents pathogens from entering the teat canal and causing inflammation. Lactic acid and iodine were used to formulate two different veterinary hygiene products for cattle udder disinfection. Natural, semi-synthetic and synthetic polymers were selected to increase the viscosity of the disinfectants. Biocidal products must maintain sufficient stability throughout their shelf-life. Consequently, the stability of the viscosity, pH, specific conductivity parameters and concentration of active ingredients of the developed compositions have been determined. |
