Abstract [eng] This final work analyzes the implementation of biocogeneration in the boiler house of AB “Šiaulių energija” in Kuršėnai. In order to increase the capacity of the future cogeneration power plant, the possibility of connecting separate networks of Kuršėnai city to the common network is assessed, thus increasing the heat demand in the networks. Hydraulic and heat loss calculations are performed to substantiate the connection. Once the heat energy demand in the optimized network has been determined, the most suitable cogeneration unit is selected, taking into account the investment, payback time and net project value. A situation is modeled in which the average load of heating networks during the day and the power generated by different heating devices are seen. The payback time and net value of the investment in the reconstruction of the networks and the biocogeneration unit are assessed. Conclusions on the introduction of cogeneration in Kuršėnai city are presented.
