Abstract [eng] The purpose of the carbon monoxide conversion technological line is to remove carbon monoxide from synthesis gas mixture, which is used for ammonia synthesis. Water gas shift unit is commonly placed after two-step methane conversion unit, because after its synthesis gas mixture is rich in carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide is a poison for ammonia synthesis catalyst. According to the calculations made in the work, by using more active catalyst, the amount of water vapor used for technology can be reduced by 39380 kg/h. Such a reduction of water vapor content would let to save 1485 m3/h of natural gas required for water vapor production. Technological line of carbon monoxide is in Jonava district, Jonalaukis village. The area of the plot is 0,515 ha. According to financial and economic calculations, the company will save 5,17 million euros per year for natural gas consumption. Reduction of natural gas usage would reduce the cost of the product by 10,52 euros per ton of ammonia. The savings in natural gas usage would be directly proportional to the increase in revenue. Following the assessment of the safety and health of staff, information on harmful and dangerous substances used in production, their limit values and prevention measures was provided. An environmental assessment of the technological line has shown that the production of water vapor releases natural gas combustion products, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides. For the reduction of nitrogen oxides homogeneous treatment with gaseous ammonia is used. Such a technology would result in nitrous oxide reduction in halve.
