Abstract [eng] The relevance of the topic. With the rapidly changing business environment ever-increasing employee ambitions inevitably grow the number of threats in the workplace. Niedhammer et al. (2012) have shown that threats such as high psychological demands, work-life balance disorders, discrimination, etc. has a significant impact on the onset of illness and the sociopsychological condition of the employee. According to Goh et al. (2015), in analyzing the effects of workplace threats, stressors may be an important aspect in developing resilience. Researchers point out that it is necessary to shape a person’s ability to develop resilience, but in order to develop resilience, one must first understand how a person perceives the threats encountered in the work environment. The functions of an individual's brain are examined by neuroscience, an area that analyzes aspects that determine human thinking, emotions, and certain behaviors. Neuroscience is one of the fastest growing fields of science today, which has been rapidly penetrating the field of human resources. The close link between human resource management and neuroscience is demonstrated by the fact that these disciplines are based on the human being: neuroscience explores the understanding of human behavior, while human resources use the application of that understanding in the business, the workplace, and the employee experience. Therefore, the development of employee competencies through neuroscience insights is becoming increasingly important, but there is a lack of research on the direct impact of individual competencies on psychological threats in the work environment. The aim of the research - to determine the role of competencies in reducing work environment threats and improving the sociopsychological condition of the employee. The main results of the research: defined the components of the employee's sociopsychological condition, work environment factors determining stressful situations, identified competencies that can reduce work environment threats, and empirically investigated the links between competencies, work environment threats and the employee's sociopsychological condition.
