The object of this research work – (CeO2-CuO)/NaX catalyst properties and their application. These catalysts have many potential areas of use, this work tested two promising (CeO2-CuO)/NaX catalyst uses: catalytic oxidation of benzene and catalytic N2O decomposition. These two processes are important because they solve environmental problems. Three different composition impregnated (CeO2-CuO)/NaX catalysts containing large quantities of active component were produced. At 400 °C 6,52 % CeO2 and 15,3 % CuO containing catalyst reached 94,2 % benzene conversion; 16,2 % CeO2 and 8,85 % CuO containing catalyst reached 94 % conversion; 23,2 % CeO2 and 3,62 % CuO containing catalyst reached 93 % benzene conversion. At 561 °C catalyst with 6,52 % CeO2 and 15,3 % CuO reached 97,98 % N2O conversion; catalyst with 16,2 % CeO2 and 8,85 % CuO reached 99,2 % N2O conversion; catalyst with 23,2 % CeO2 and 3,62 % CuO reached 83,5 % N2O conversion. Based on the results it was concluded that catalyst containing 6,52 % CeO2 and 15,3 % CuO performs best in both processes. Technology recomendations using the best catalyst for benzene oxidation and N2O decomposition were proposed. Finally the results were summarized in 5 conclusions. |
