Abstract [eng] |
With the rapid deplition of fossil fuel the use alternative energy sources is becoming ever more important. Hybrid organic-inorganic sollar cells have seen a lot of development over the past few years and could potentially replace the traditional and significantly more expensive inorganic solar cells. This is due to the discovery of the light absorbing qualities of class of materials called perovskites. To further increase the efficiency of perovskite solar cells as well as decrease their cost, new hole transporting materials are needed. Hydrazones are a well known class of organic molecular hole transporting materials which are relatively inexpensive, easy to synthesize and have good photophysical properties. This work encompases the synthesis and the study of thermal, optoelectric and electrochemical properties of new di- and tetrahydrazone triphenylamine and methoxytriphenylamine derivatives as well as a discussion thereof. Preliminary test result of experimental solar cells fabricated using the synthesized materials are also presented. |
