The final year masters project is based on the feasibility study of the recovery of waste heat from the cooling system of a combined cycle power plant for the purpose of heating up district heating water. The project analyses current needs for heating, evaluates alternative project options, carries out the analysis of the heat pump thermodynamic cycle and compares the operational costs of the existing and proposed systems. The importance of the proposed system is evaluated, according to the cost forecasts of heat and electricity. |
