Abstract [eng] This paper describes research of the mature forest stands inventory by selection method. Information systems and software realization for this process are analized. Inventory of mature stands is important part of Lithuanian forest management. It is a process in which statistical field data about mature forest are collected and processed. According to these data it is possible to calculate the stands of mature forest in the area, species composition and the estimated yield of wood. The paper analyzed the Lithuanian forestry used mature forest stands inventory by selection method process. Also already existing software solutions for inventory stands are revised and compared. Short research about possibility to use such software in mature stand inventory is conducted. Paper also describes an information system design and realization, which could be used in mature stand inventory by selection method.
