The analysis of the scientific literature, legal documents and statistical data in the field of metal materials saving presented in this work. The algorithm for the evaluation of possibilities to save raw materials in the metal products production is proposed. The analysis of the scientific literature revealed the metal extraction process makes obvious damage to the environment - waste, in many cases, contaminated with heavy metals and chemicals can contaminate surface and ground water, affect biodiversity. The main environmental problem was determined in the company selected for the experiment, performing the environmental audit: large metal waste formation (30 % of raw materials) where the major part is generated at the laser cutting bar. Four alternatives proposed for the waste reduction, two of them selected for the Cleaner production (CP) innovation: process optimization and technological change. The implementation of this innovation allowed to save 15-20 % of primary metal raw materials and reduce metal cutting gas consumption levels between 50 and 100 %. Degree of metal raw materials reuse was analysed. The list of the most important raw materials for Lithuania was updated after the evaluation of the processing degree of raw materials (ρi) in the company selected for the experiment. |
