Abstract [eng] |
Electrophysiological events reflecting sensory or cognitive actions in the brain - visual evoked potentials (VEP) – are registered as brief monophasic deflections embedded in the background electroencephalographic activity. Quantitative evaluation of VEP`s parameters provides useful information for studying the brain processes and is crucial in clinical diagnostics. Background EEG cancelation is the most important step in signal pre-processing. Various averaging approaches or multivariate analysis based truncated expansion technics applied for it has serious drawback when processing VEP`s with varying latency. Our proposed truncated expansion based method uses adaptive time shift of basis functions and shows better reconstruction of every single sweep. |
