Abstract [eng] |
Age related macular degeneration (ARMD) is a degenerative disease usually occurring in people over the age of 50 years. Australia, Europe, North America, studies show that AMD prevalence ranging from 0.2 percent in early sixties till 13 percent in age over 85 years. The aim of this work was to improve monitoring of ARMD patients by optimizing the visualization of pathological structures in eye fundus images. We investigated suitability of Principal component analysis and Independent component analysis methods for optimizing of the color scheme for representation of drusen - ARMD related pathological structures. Independent component analysis based method was proposed as showing best results for maximizing of contrast in representation of drusen in eye fudus images. I increased the contrast 8-fold when compared to green color representation recommended in numerous publications. |
