The objective of this paper is to find delaminations in a given speciment with complex joint of different materials and pinpoint their location with a set probability. To achieve a result the objective was divided in four tasks which are as follows: to choose a proper inspection method after analyzing literature resources, to create a computer model of the experiment which will allow to determine required parameters for experimental measurements, to make experimental measurements, to evaluate uncertainty of measurements with a chosen probability. Problems such as non homogenic materials, complex geometry of joint, difference between acoustic impedances were encountered in this task. Theoretical model was created to solve these problems. It was determined, that the best method to experimentally measure the speciment is to use immersion pulse echo method using high frequency focused transducers (10 – 5 MHz). Also it was determined, that the best position of the transducer would be, when scanning is initiated from composite side of the speciment. Experimental results showed, that it is possible to find defects in complex geometry joint and in regular joint. |
