Abstract [eng] Atrial fibrillation is the most significant arrhythmia in clinical practise. Atrial fibrillation is a progressive disorder with paroxysmal episodes becoming more frequent, and persistent, and persistent episodes often becoming permanent. Recent findings have shown that even very short atrial fibrillation episodes, lasting less 30 s might be associated with increased risk of stroke. Early detection of brief atrial fibrillation episodes is very important. However, the lack of multi-lead brief atrial fibrillation database restricts the development of more sophisticated atrial fibrillation detectors. The solution of this problem – simulated electrocardiogram signals. The goal of this workis to propose a model for simulating surface multi-lead atrial activity signals during paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and investigate the adequacy of the atrial activity signals to real signals. The results of the work showed that simulated P waves and f-waves morphology is comparable to that of real P and f-waves when noise components of 30 μV (RMS) is added to the model.
