Abstract [eng] |
Health care system has a decisive influence on economic growth and productivity of employees. The health level of the population directly affects the labour force, which is the basis of productivity. Productivity, in turn, has a decisive influence on the country’s economic growth. Discussions in the theory and practice of health care economics focus on issues in the health care financing system and possible solutions to those issues. Different countries apply various combinations of health care financing schemes, each of which has its own advantages and limitations. Most authors agree that the current situation in the health care systems is far from being suitable for the creation of a more effective and competitive health care system. As a result of the economic crisis, most European (and Western in general) countries realized that this sphere has obvious limitations that negatively affect the normal functioning and further development of the health care system. Despite payment collection and annual allocation of funds to health care, expenses for the financing of the health care system lie heavy on both developed and developing countries, without achieving satisfaction with the results of health care services. |
