Clustering is recognized as the most advanced and rapidly developing economies phenomenon, in many countries operating in clusters promote economic growth, attracting innovation, skilled workers, investment in R&D, promotes new technologies. Clustering also brings together businesses, public and academic institutions whose social and commercial relations determined by their specialization, provide access to unique resources and thus increases both cluster members and all of the country's competitiveness, innovation and productivity. In order to strengthen their competitive position in the market organizations, clustering is increasingly becoming one of the essential conditions for the development of business cooperation and development, especially in initiating joint projects and joint strengthening corporate trust. One of the research areas - Lithuanian Maritime sector clustering preconditions on productivity, innovation and competitiveness, preconditions and risks level of expression of the sector during the clustering process. The practical application of research justifies the importance of the Lithuanian Maritime sector clustering preconditions of economic evaluation methodology for practical application opportunities: formed the basis of a model to assess a country (region) level in the Maritime sector clustering preconditions; to evaluate country (region) Maritime sector potential development opportunities; to highlight the main clustering preconditions’ leading and limiting factors; to compare clustering preconditions of Maritime sector in the Baltic Sea region countries. |
