AB Klaipėdos energija Klaipėda city boiler houses are the selected objects for the evaluation of Cleaner Production & Resource Efficiency (RECP) possibilities in the master's thesis. At present, over 60 % of the thermal energy is produced from renewable energy sources (RES). The paper analyzes alternatives to increase the share of RES in the overall balance and optimize existing technological processes. The first proposed innovation was implemented in 2019. It was allowed reducing natural gas consumption in boiler houses by 3.4%. The implementation of other selected innovations would allow refusing reserve fuel oil usage, reducing the consumption of fuel by 3.2 kWh per MWh, reduce GHG (CO2) emissions by more than 3 kg / MWh, air pollutants (CO, NOx, SO2, PM) – by about 0.02 kg / MWh. |
