Abstract [eng] |
This master’s thesis analyzes the promotion of electricity generation from renewable energy sources through technologically neutral auctions in Lithuania. The paper focuses on support mechanisms based on feed-in premium auction scheme assessment, examines its implementation in five countries and presents conclusions and recommendations. The thesis reviews trends and support mechanisms of renewable energy sources in the world, Europe, and Lithuania. In addition, it analyses electricity auctions, their types and compares them. The research methods used in this thesis were scientific literature review, statistical data, and interviews with experts. This thesis revealed that technology neutral auctions and their conditions in Lithuania are suitable, yet implementing appropriate improvements could lead to rise in number of participants in auctions and increased competition. |
