Abstract [eng] |
Due to the worldwide increase of natural gas consumption, safe and reliable gas transportation must be ensured. The key component in gas transportation are regulators which control pressure and flow in the pipeline, and they require maintenance for safe operation. Most common researches on gas regulator fault detection are analyzed. A historical process data is analyzed to see if there are any discrepancies in a 2-year working period which might indicate regulator malfunction. A new approach in regulator fault detection is suggested using PLC. Different algorithms are developed and tested for statistical error tracking using 2 approaches to define regulator working point. Algorithms are tested using historical data and results are compared with previously analyzed historical data results. The results showed that regulator working point creation can be used for finding statistical error, which tends to increase, in a long working period. Based on analysis and gathered results, it can be stated that proposed algorithms can be implemented in industrial systems using PLC, for natural gas regulator fault detection. |
