Abstract [eng] Literature survey of Master’s Final Project thesis discuses carbon dioxide physical and chemical properties, its importance and effect on living organisms, environment and industry. Furthermore, an overview is given on various carbon dioxide treatment technologies used in chemical industry Research and Engineering parts analyse the technology of CO2 removal from converted gas stream used in AB “Achema” ammonia production plant, ways to improve it. Comprehensive description of improved technological line is provided accompanied by mass balance calculations, scheme drawing and process model in Aspen HYSYS. In the construction part a description of designed building and territory plan is given together with drawings. Financial and economical calculations are carried out to assess investment efficiency and profitability of reconstructed technological line, determining it as a beneficial investment lowering production costs and yelding additional profit. An environmental assesment is based on used raw and other chemical materials, products, wastewater, solid waste and air pollution. In the Work Safety section major work environment hazards are indentified to carry out occupational risk, job hygiene and fire safety assessment. A drawing of evacuation plan for designed building is provided.
