Nitric acid is one of the key components in fertilizer industry. It is mostly used for ammonium nitrate and calcium ammonium nitrate production. The raw material of nitric acid production is ammonia, which is produced from non-renewable natural gas. That is the reason why we should aim for lesser ammonia consumption. In this master‘s thesis the research was made to find out if NO oxidation reaction on platinum/alumina catalyst has an impact on product‘s yield. |
