The aim of the article is to research the exhibitions held at VMU in 1922-1940 looking at their objectives and relation with the cultural space of the provisional capital Kaunas. The major sources of the research are exhibition catalogues, posters, announcements, invitations, comments on the events found in the periodicals of those times and memoirs. As the present work is the first attempt to analyze the topic in greater detail, the collected historiography is rather fragmented and sparse.[...]. |
