Abstract [eng] |
The project focuses on the topic of analyzing the learning object visual elements using the gaze-tracking technology. The gaze monitoring system is used for the analysis that captures eye-tracking data and calculates various metrics. Learning object visual elements that require the most of the attention are found with the help of the system. The final thesis aims at analyzing different learning objects such as text, graphs and formulas. The collected gaze data is used to validate the VARK questionnaire. The aim, relevance and tasks of the thesis are described in the introduction. The introduction part also includes an explanation of the document contents. The next part describes analysis of the gaze tracking, equipment and similar software. Furthermore, the gaze characteristics, learning object specifics and learning styles are analyzed. In addition, the most essential parts of the system specification are presented such as the use case, deployment, package diagrams and functional/nonfunctional requirements. What is more, the results of the gaze monitoring system maintainability analysis are demonstrated. The experiment part of this document describes the methodology and results. Last but not least, thesis conclusions are drawn. |
