The rapid development of technologies, learning methods and needs of students‘ impacts necessity for educators constantly improve their competencies. Regarding to insignificant IT skills or absence of it, teachers face a problem to orient successfully in a variety of IT tools and apply them in the educational process. This work analyzes what kind of support teachers‘ need in order to develop their competencies effectively in a recent educational process, what type of support system would be beneficial for educators to acquire the necessary skills, how to help to find an advantages information, tools and other learning materials that is needful for educators work. The aim of the thesis is to create a teacher support system that provides an opportunity to develop teachers' IT management and application competencies effectively in an educational processes. In order to achieve the goal were reviewed problems, support elements that are required to develop educators‘ competencies, measurements, platforms, support systems and projects that enables the improvement of teachers' IT competencies. The survey results shows that it is appropriate to design a teacher support system that enables teachers to improve their IT competencies. According to their needs and functional requirements, a teacher support system has been designed and enables teachers to learn about IT tools and instruments, communicate and cooperate, improve their competencies. The teacher support system was tested at Basic School „Rytas“ in Plungė, the system analysis was accomplished. It was found that the support system was appreciated by respondents and they prefer to continue using it to improve their competencies. |
