Importance of the subject. Higher salary, packages of extra benefits or a prestigious location of a workplace in a city is not enough to maintain employee motivation within the organization. To retain and attract talents, it is necessary to improve motivational systems that satisfies the needs of the employees. Organizations with limited resources cannot meet the requirements of all employees, especially financial ones. For these reasons, organizations face with employee turnover, engagement and motivation issues, which encourages them to look for other ways of motivation. Nowadays modern talents pay more attention to meaningful, creative, innovative work, self-realization, therefore the importance of internal motivation is more important than the elements of external motivation. The rapidly growing gamification tool, which is more and more popular in the world, but in Lithuania goes first steps, allows organizations to achieve greater efficiency, productivity, involvement and motivation of their employees. Gamification can also give benefit from an employee’s perspective, because it creates more interesting, interactive methods of work or learning, provides motivation to observe one’s progress and improve skills. Also, it helps to assimilate positive behaviors. The results achieved during gamification and its effect on employee motivation is widely analyzed in the scientific literature. However, there is a shortage of researches that analyze which elements encourage and motivate to stay in the gaming system. For these reasons, the relationship between game mechanics and motivation is examined more detail in this project. The object of the project: links between gamification and employee’s motivation. The aim of the project: to determine the links between gamification and employee’s motivation. The tasks of the project: 1. To analyze the concept of the gamification and identify motivating gaming elements. 2. To analyze the concept of motivation and determine the factors that increase the motivation of employees. 3. To develop a theoretical model of the links between gamification and motivation. 4. To evaluate empirically the links between gamification and motivation. The main results of the research: summarizing the analysis of the scientific literature and considering the results of the research, it can be concluded that gamification and motivation have connections. Elements of game mechanics can meet a person’s needs for autonomy, competence, and social relatedness. |
