Abstract [eng] Economics as a system of economic activity is characterized by cyclicality. Cyclicality is one of the reasons for changing macroeconomic indicators. Many economic players and the sector are affected by one change or another. The construction sector is one of those economic activities which is particularly responsive to changing economic conditions. This paper analyzes the impact of the change in macroeconomic indicators on the construction sector over the ten-year period from 2008 to 2018. The analysis of scientific literature examines the cyclical nature of the economy, the causes of these cycles and the influence of cycles on the construction sector. It also identifies which macroeconomic indicators help to understand possible changes in the economic cycle and analyzes which macroeconomic indicators have the greatest impact on the performance of the construction sector. The main part of the research analyzes the main indicators of the country's activities and the influence of their changes on the construction sector. When examining changes in the country's macroeconomic indicators and their impact on the construction sector, it is estimated that most of the macroeconomic indicators in the construction sector are worse than before the 2009 economic crisis. The construction sector is still below pre-crisis levels. It was found that GDP has the biggest influence on the turnover of the construction sector.
