Abstract [eng] The most successful pathogen in nowadays health care system is Acinobacter baumanii which can survive under critical environmental conditions. With an increase of invasive procedures in hospital and the rise of antibiotics intake A. baumannii became the most hazardous pathogen in hospitals during the last decades. The main reason why this pathogen can spread and proliferate is the genome flexibility which enables the improvement of inner mechanisms leading to antibiotics resistant cells development. During the last twenty years the infections caused by A. baumannii isolates, resistant to the most common antibiotics, have spread out and the records about these outbreaks can be found worldwide. To effectively solve this rising issue it is really important to identify not only pathogen species but also clinical features, risks and virulence factors related to the corresponding pathogen. Knowledge about resistance mechanisms of A. baumannii can reveal a strategy on how the spread of these pathogens can be stopped. The effectiveness of newly investigated antibiotics should be evaluated when applied to treat infections caused by A. baumanni following with the perception of alternate drugs application.
