Abstract [eng] |
Hydrazones are a class of organic compounds that have become increasingly popular in medical chemistry due to the wide spectrum of biological properties. Derivatives containing N-N moiety possess antimicrobial, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-tuberculosis, anti-cancer properties and even are active against human immunodeficiency virus [1]. Scientists are interested in hydrazide derivatives with isatin and strong biological properties of these complexes, wide application for industrial use and medicine [2]. In this work a series of novel hydrazone derivatives containing isatin moiety were synthesized. The structures of the synthesized products were confirmed by proton nuclear magnetic resonance, carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance, infrared spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. Biological properties of novel compounds were investigated in biotechnology laboratories at KTU faculty of Chemical Technology. The obtained compounds exhibited antioxidant and antibacterial properties. It was found that derivatives containing methoxy, ethoxy and halogen (chloro, bromo) substituents in para position of phenyl ring, shown better biological activity than other newly synthetized hydrazones. |
