In this master's thesis the reliability of electricity distribution networks and its evaluation indicators - SAIDI and SAIFI are studied, furthermore, measures dedicated to improve these indicators are explored. 2018 outages of Kaunas region are examined and network lines that have the greatest impact on reliability indicators are identified. For the line with the highest impact, theoretical reliability is calculated using the radial distribution network zone and branch method and the possibilities to apply reliability improvement measures are investigated. After choosing the most effective reliability improvement measures the cost of their application and their impact on the Kaunas region SAIDI and SAIFI indicators are evaluated. The minimum investment required to improve a percent of SAIDI and SAIFI is determined. |
