The master's final thesis focuses on analysing the factors that affect electricity price in Lithuania. This topic has been chosen because electricity is a good of a very high importance. It is used to produce many different goods as well as to provide various services. Electrical energy is also being consumed by almost every household on a daily basis. Because electricity has a broad range of uses its price is important for most agents. Electricity price is constantly fluctuating. Therefore, it is important to understand what factors affect it and how. Factors that affect eletrical energy price are the object of this project. The purpose of this thesis is to find and to analyse the factors affecting the electricity price in Lithuania. To achieve said purpose certain tasks are carried out. They are: discussing the problems of electricity price, analysing the structure of Lithuanian electricity sector and electricity market, performing a theoretical analysis of the factors affecting electricity price, preparing a methodology for establishing these factors in practice and using said methodology to find the factors affecting electricity price in Lithuania as well as to report their exact effect. |
